How Do You Discipline Your Baby?

If there's one thing parents are always concern about, it is how you discipline and raise a well-behaved child. Before I became a mom, I promised myself that I will raise my future kids without resorting to physical punishment but still be able to instill discipline to them. This is because I don't want them to believe that it's alright to hurt other people just because they did something wrong or something you don't like.

Now that I have a baby, it is easier said than done. Though my child is sweet, jolly and friendly, there are times when she throws tantrums or shouts at you, at lola or her yaya. I try to explain to her that she should not do such things, but with her age, I think she doesn't understand it yet. I am sometimes tempted to spank her but I manage to control myself.

But even if I'm not getting positive results right now, I wouldn't stop communicating with my baby until she understands right from wrong. I will continue to be a good example for her as consistency is key. I will continue NOT to use physical punishment when she commits a mistake. And I know in my heart, we will both reap the rewards in the future.
